Bamboo salt, also known as Jukyeom, is a unique type of salt from Korea that is made through a traditional process in which sea salt is filled into bamboo tubes and sealed with mineral-rich yellow clay. It is then roasted several times at extremely high temperatures. This process can be repeated up to nine times, with the salt becoming more intense and purer each time. Roasting in the bamboo, which burns in the process, adds various minerals to the salt. Bamboo salt is characterized by its light gray to pink color and grainy texture. It has a higher content of minerals and trace elements than ordinary sea salt.
